Supporting Kenilworth
Don’t forget – Carnival Day is about much more than simply having fun! It’s
main purpose is to raise funds for local charitable organisations through the
street collection made during the Procession.
In fact, the Carnival’s charitable roots can be traced back more than 125 years,
when the town began fundraising for Leamington’s Warneford Hospital. Today,
Kenilworth Carnival supports charities a little closer to home, such as the
Waverley Day Centre, Kenilworth Girlguiding and Myton Hospice.
The Carnival also operates its own charity – the Kenilworth Carnival Comforts
Fund – from which donations can be made to individuals in urgent need of
financial assistance. The Comforts Fund has also provided food vouchers to
elderly and/or vulnerable people in the town at Christmas time.
So, when those donation buckets come a-rattling your way during this year’s
Carnival Fun Weekend, please be as generous as you can – you can be sure that
all proceeds will be going to a very good cause!
If you would like to get involved with the Carnival or its charity work, please get in
